Better Start Initiative

Two of our therapists Julia Beck and Mary Smith are registered providers for the better start initiative providing early intervention for children with disabilities.

Children aged under six years who have been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile x Syndrome or a moderate or greater Vision or Hearing Impairment are eligible to receive support under the better start initiative.

To register your child for the Better Start early intervention funding you must call the Registration and Information service on 1800 242 636.

Exercise Physiology and Sport Science is the scientific study of how our body adapts and changes with different types of exercises, and the application of this knowledge in the treatment and long term management of various chronic conditions and /or to enhance sporting performance.

What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist? An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university qualified allied health professional with particular expertise in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and nutrition. They

specialise in the assessment, prescription and supervision of exercise and lifestyle programs for healthy individuals, people with disabilities, people with chronic health conditions and athletes, especially if you want to enhance your sporting performance.
